বিগত ১০ বছর যাবত যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের নিউইয়র্কে বসবাসকারী ও কমিউনিটির পরিচিতমুখ মাহফুজ আদনান।
গত ১০ বছরে কয়েকবার দেশে এসে নির্বাচনী এলাকায় গণসংযোগ করেন। যোগদেন বিভিন্ন শ্রেণী পেশার মানুষের সামাজিক অনুষ্ঠানে।
নানা শ্রেণীপেশার মানুষের মতামত নিয়ে তিনি মাহফুজ আদনান সমর্থক জোট কুলাউড়ার মনোনীত প্রার্থী হতে যাচ্ছেন । তার ব্যক্তিগত সহকারী সাইদুল হাসান শাহজাহান ও জনসংযোগ বিভাগের চিফ সাংবাদিক শরীফ আহমেদ বিষয়টি এ প্রতিবেদককে নিশ্চিত করেন ।
উল্লেখ্য ১৩ টি ইউনিয়ন ও ১ পৌরসভা নিয়ে গঠিত মৌলভীবাজার -২ (কুলাউড়া) আসনের নানা শ্রেণীপেশার মানুষের সাথে গত ২৩ বছর যাবত সম্পর্ক রেখে চলেছেন আদনান ।

রোটারি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল সংগঠনের সাথে গত ১৮ বছর থেকে দেশে-প্রবাস থেকে কাজ করছেন তিনি। বাংলাদেশের বন্যা ও করোনাসহ মহামারীতেও নানা প্রতিকুলতায় অসহায় মানুষকে সহযোগিতা করেছেন নীরবে।
